          <datacite:description descriptionType="Abstract">本稿では英語母語話者（NS）と非英語母語話者（NNS）（日本人大学生）の実際のインタラクションを分析して，NSとNNSのインタラクションの修正の特徴に違いがあるかどうか，そしてNNSの英語学力の差によってNNSのインタラクションの修正（interactional modification）の特徴に違いがみられるかどうか比較検討した。その結果，NSはNNSより自分の理解の確認チェック（confirmation check）と相手の発話のそのままの繰り返し（0ther－repetition）と相手の発話の言い直し・拡張（0ther－expansion）を有意に多く用いた。一方NNSは自分の発話のそのままの繰り返し（self－repetition），や自分の発話の言い直し・拡張（self-expansion）のタイプを他のタイプより有意に最も多く使用した。またNNSでは上位群が下位群より明瞭化の要求（clarification request）を有意に多く使用したが，下位群では自分や相手の発話のそのままの繰り返しを上位群より有意に多用していることが明らかになった。</datacite:description>
          <datacite:description descriptionType="Abstract">This study investigates (1) whether there are significant differences in interactional modifications between a native English speaker and 10 Japanese university students ; and (2) whether proficiency levels affect the interactional modifications of Japanese university students. The major findings show that significant differences in interactional modifications occurred between the native English speaker and 10 Japanese university students, and that the interactional modifications differed with proficiency level in Japanese university students. That is, the native English speaker used significantly more confirmation checks, other-repetitions, and other-expansions than the Japanese university students, while the Japanese university students used significantly more self-repetitions and self-expansions than any other type of modification. In addition, for the Japanese students, the high group used significantly more clarification requests than the low group ; the low group used significantly more self-repetitions and other-repetitions than the high group.</datacite:description>
