This study sought to examine the \"ibasyo\" and its necessary conditions in elementary school and junior high school. A questionnaire based on preliminary investigations was given to 185 of university students (74 males and 111 females; mean age= 20.9, SD= 3.24) . The results indicated eight places for \"ibasyo\" in elementary school (for example, a schoolroom, club activities and library), and eight places for \"ibasyo\" in junior high school (for example, a schoolroom, toilet and teacher's room). Factor analysis revealed that, two to four factors contributed to determine \"ibasyo\" in elementary school and junior high school.
