We analyzed a series of their play times and their parents' answers to the questionnaires about TV programs their children watched and their play habits at home. Then we examined enviromental and personal factors in these situations, and the relationship between these play times and their preceding ones. It is said that most of childrens' explorations or explorational play like play-fighting against monsters may be prompted by astonishment when they listen to their teachers' fictions that imaginary animals (e.g., dragons and monsters) may exist in the real world. The preschool teacher, whom we observed, however, rarely told these fictions which would induce the childrens' fighting against monsters.
