The problem is how Japanese person expressions are used in novels. The texts are investigated from the next viewpoints : １） the person restriction; ２）the markedness of the predicates; ３）the centricity of the participant of text. Finally, we argue that the Japanese personal nominals have hierarchy, similar to universal hypothesis.
