Their expectation is that holding open classes may give school children an opportunity to touch machine tools, arousing theirinterest in and developing understanding on manufacturing skills and technology. Having them use machine tools and CAD/CAM systems , however, requires man-to-man instructions, and it is difficult to enroll many participants.
