| 内容記述 | 1992年4月に，本学1年生75名，2年生90名を対象に，英語の授業中他の学生の前で英語で話すときに感じる不安の原因は何か，学生は自己の英語力をクラスメート，教師との関連においてどのように評価しているかについてアンケート調査を実施し，さらに以上の結果について学年による差がみられるのかどうかを比較検討した。その結果，学年による差はみられず，学生は間違ったり，変なことをいって恥をかきた〈ない，という気持ちが最も強く，自分の英語力が他のクラスメートより劣る，と自分の英語力を捉らえていることが明らかになった。 | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | The purposes of this fourth study were to find out 1) what the factors are that make students feel anxious when they speak English in English classes ; 2) how students evaluate their abilities of and attitudes toward speaking English in relation to their classmates and their teachers ; and finally 3) to compare the differences in the responses of freshmen and sophomores. Data was gathered from 75 Japanese freshmen and 90 Japanese sophomores, using a questionnaire, which was administered in April of 1992. The data was analyzed by ANOVA and the Wilcoxon's rank sum test. The results in each category revealed that 1) as the most significant factor making students feel anxious in English classes, students chose this item : they are very much afraid of getting embarrassed making mistakes or saying something strange ; 2) they felt that their English ability was inferior to that of their classmates ; and 3) no special difference was found between freshmen and sophomores in this study. | |||||||||||
