| 内容記述 | 川端康成「伊豆の踊子」の中に，表現として顕現していない主格動作主の解釈が曖昧な文がある。この解釈事例には，結束性と一貫性の双方が関わっている。小論では，結束性・一貫性という言語学用語について確認的な概観をした上で，関連性理論の枠組みに基づいてこの事例の分析を行う。分析にあたっては，川端自身がその文の解釈について書き残しているエッセイを利用する。分析を通じて，結束性解釈が語彙統語構造から受ける強い制約，結束性解釈と一貫性解釈との連携性，結束性解釈と一貫性解釈の衝突などの問題を議論する。 | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | In Izu no Odoriko (The Izu Dancer) written by Yasunari Kawabata, there is a sentence whose covert subject is interpretively ambiguous. This interesting case of interpretation involves several pragmatic problems related with both 'cohesion' and 'coherence'. In this paper, first, I gave an overview in terms of the distinction between 'cohesion' and 'coherence', as well as the definitions of each two terms. After that, using the essay work in which Yasunari Kawabata himself wrote about his own intended interpretation, I look at these problems from the viewpoint as follows : (i) how cohesion and coherence restrict each other, (ii) how cohesion and coherence cooperate with each other, and (iii) how cohesion and coherence conflict with each other. | |||||||||||
