| 内容記述 | 川端康成の掌篇小説「化粧」の主題を論じ、それがいかなる表現機構に支えられているかを〈空間〉〈構成〉〈文学テクストの有契性〉の各観点から検討した。「斎場」という非日常空間でおこる出来事は、そこに接した「私の家」の日常空間から覗き見られる仕組みになっている。「斎場」において「若い女」が自己の姿を鏡にうつし見る行為の意味を考察すると、「斎場」での出来事が「私の家」の出来事の鏡像となっている可能性のあることが理解される。その点から、作品中には描かれない主人公と妻の関係、川端と妻の関係に言及した。 | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | I have deliberated the theme of the short story Kesho by Yasunari Kawabata, and discussed what kind of expression devices are employed to support it from the perspectives of "space", "structure", and "relationship of literary texts". It takes the framework that the occurrences in the non-daily space "saijo" (a crematory) are looked into through the daily space of "watasi no ie" (my house) adjacent to it. Considering the intention of the act that "wakai onna" (a young woman) sees herself in the mirror in "saijo", we can realize the possibility that the events in "saijo" should be the mirror images of those in "watasi no ie". I have also pointed out from this the relationship between the hero and his wife, which is not described in the story, and the relationship between Kawabata and his wife. | |||||||||||
