| 内容記述 | 我が国における朝の歯磨きの習慣は，通常，仏教の影響によるとされている。しかし，その根拠は必ずしも明らかではない。本稿は，パーリ律，漢訳諸律における歯木に関する条項を精査し，その比較・検討から，古代インド仏教教団ではどのような理由から歯磨きの規定が作られたのか，また実際にどのように実践されていたのか，さらに時代の推移に伴いそこにどのような変化が生じたのか，その原因は何かというこについて，考察するものである。 | |||||||||||

| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to make clear the origin and the development of the tooth-cleaning code of Buddhism in ancient India through the comparison of 6 Vinaya texts in Pali and Chinese. Additionally, based on 'Nankaikikinaihouden' written by Gijo in late 7c. A.D., it is intoduced how was this code practiced then actually. The author proved that the reason of laying down of this code was mainly based on the problem of social mannar and there originally was few evidence that it related with religious impurity. In according with the development of Hinduism, especially under Gupta-dynasty, the idea about religious purity and impurity became strong in social life and by this influence it is supposed the meaning of this code gradually changed. | |||||||||||
